Don't get frustrated - Get educated.
We not only train the dog, but also provide expert guidance to the clients through handler instruction. We build the client's confidence in working with their dog(s), educate clients about dog behavior and behavior modification. Dogs are very much individuals and need to be trained in that respect. We develop training programs to suit each individual dog’s needs. Our basic goals are to build confidence in the dog, confidence in the handler, and to gain verbal control. All of our obedience programs include:
- Working on fourteen obedience commands
- Specific problems our clients are experiencing
- And we always work towards obtaining our client's goals with their dog.
All puppies and dogs must show proof of vaccinations prior to participating in our training programs. We require current DHLPP and Rabies vaccinations for dogs over the age of 6 mos.
For dogs participating in the Board and Train Program, we also require a current Bordetella.
We strongly suggest that your dog have a negative fecal test, a negative Heartworm test for dogs older than six months of age, and be free of external parasites.
Basic and Advanced Obedience:
On- and off-leash instruction. We focus on developing confidence, stability, and handler attentiveness. Covers: Obedience commands, behavior modification, handler instruction, and handling techniques.
Initial Private Consultation:
A consultation is arranged prior to enrolling in a training program. The consultation gives us an opportunity to evaluate the dog and discuss the client's goals. With this information we will recommend the appropriate training program.
Fee: $45.00 (Applied toward training programs)
Our private sessions provide one on one instruction. In addition to working on the basic obedience commands, we also discuss and work on specific problems you may be experiencing. This program includes four private sessions and two group classes.
One on one instruction. Training should begin as soon as possible. Puppies are very impressionable and eager to learn. Focus is on developing a positive training attitude and a solid foundation for continued training. Covers: Basic obedience commands, socialization, verbal control, leadership, confidence building and temperament handling exercises. This program includes four private sessions and two groups classes.
Board and Train:
This is our most thorough program. The dog stays at our facility for three weeks. During this time we lay a solid obedience foundation. We then begin the Handler Instruction phase of the program, which consists of four private sessions and two group classes, six sessions total. The first and second sessions are on the very same day as pick up. The weeks following the pick-up day/sessions will consist of the third and fourth private sessions, and after all the private sessions are complete the handler and the dog(s) will return to participate in two half-hour group classes.
Group Maintenance Classes:
Our group classes meet each week. The dogs practice commands learned, in a distracting environment. This program is designed for proofing training and for maintenance purposes. Group class is held on Tuesday evenings, unless it rains, and is usually at the end of a training program. (NOTE: Group class is cancelled December 12th, 2017.)
Fee: $10.00 per class
